About this map
Tracing the geography of Indian art
Art in India grew out of specific places: a basalt cliff above a river, a delta rich in rice and clay, a desert court with money to spend on painters. This map plots eight of those places and explains what was made there, by whom, and why it mattered.
Objective (CO1): to explore the geographic spread and influence of different art styles across India.
